About Us

We specialize in treating patients who:

  • Have severe pain
  • Have worsening pain because medications are being reduced or stopped
  • Have pain from multiple sources
  • Have complicated medical conditions
  • Are disabled
  • Are getting less pain relief despite increasing medication
  • Feel that opiates have taken over and impaired their lives
  • Want to be more active, independent and socially engaged

Our goal in the PRMC Chronic Pain Program is to improve your overall quality of life mentally, physically and socially, and allow you to return to the highest possible level of function and independence.

Our program of treatment is designed to control pain and help you overcome problems that develop because of chronic pain, such as anxiety, depression, irritability, insomnia, overuse of narcotic pain medications and relationship stress. Our compassionate and highly skilled treatment team will work with you in our individualized program to find the best combination of treatments to help you return to meaningful activity in your life and reduce your reliance on the healthcare system.

A very strong pain medication in use in Europe since the 1960’s but little known in the US is the mainstay medication of our pain treatment program. It was created specifically as a chronic pain medication by a European pharmaceutical company and has been in continuous use since that time. This powerful medication has proven far superior to short- acting opiates for this purpose because it has a remarkable combination of beneficial characteristics possessed by no other pain reliever. Tens of thousands of patients in Europe have had chronic pain well controlled for up to 50 years without significant adverse effects from long-term use. This very strong medication is also used to treat opiate dependence in the PRMC Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. Our caring providers will work with you to develop an individualized program that best meets your needs in achieving and maintaining a strong recovery.
